MUMBAI, June 9 — Roche Pharma India has announced the launch of Tecentriq® (atezolizumab) SC in India, the country’s first subcutaneous immunotherapy for lung cancer that can be administered in approximately 7 minutes.

This breakthrough innovation has the potential to dramatically improve the cancer treatment experience of patients. By reducing treatment administration time, Tecentriq SC can lower indirect treatment costs, minimize the need to travel long distances, and enable patients and caregivers to spend less time in hospitals. The introduction of Tecentriq SC is a significant development in the treatment of lung cancer.

Global studies indicate a strong patient preference for subcutaneous administration, with 4 out of 5 patients preferring Tecentriq SC over IV administration, according to results from the IMscin002 study presented at the European Lung Cancer Congress. Tecentriq SC has the potential to treat up to 5 patients in the time taken to treat 1 patient on Intravenous infusion, making it a more efficient treatment option.

This can help reduce the burden on healthcare systems and improve patient outcomes.

The launch of Tecentriq SC in India is a positive step forward in the fight against lung cancer. As research and technology continue to advance, there is hope for improved treatment options and better patient outcomes.

With the introduction of Tecentriq SC, patients in India can now access a more efficient and potentially life-changing treatment. As the medical community continues to monitor the progress of Tecentriq SC, it will be important to watch for further developments and advancements in the treatment of lung cancer. With ongoing research and innovation, there is potential for even more breakthroughs in the future.
